Absztrakt
The purpose of this study to investigate the realization of how interactive whiteboards are used in teaching the reading skill in second language teaching. The thesis has two main parts; the first one is a general demonstration of the reading skills and their teaching. In this same section the use of the interactive whiteboard is also presented. The second main part is concerned with a research that was carried out in the real setting of an elementary school. This research was designed to investigate how effectively the interactive whiteboard can be applied in classes which main focus is the development of students’ reading skill. The study presents how particular texts were elaborated in an interactive and in a traditional, non-interactive class. The final part of the research is the comparison and analysis of data from the tests written by pupils in test groups and in the control groups. The study describes that those primary school students who took in the research and were members of the test group reached better results in reading comprehension tests than students in the control group. In the study various pedagogical reasons why this new technology is proper to be an instrument of language teaching will be represented.
