dc.description.abstract | Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic, inflammatory, recurrent, debilitating skin disease that usually presents after puberty with painful, deep-seated, inflamed lesions in the body folds, most commonly in the apocrine gland-rich areas (axillary, inguinal, and anogenital regions), but can affect other areas as well. The prevalence rate of this disease worldwide is approximately between 0.1% - and 4%. The female population is the most vulnerable to this disease, with a ratio of 3:1 compared to the male population. The pathophysiology of HS is still not fully understood to date. As much as the pathophysiology of HS remains a mystery, various scientific researchers and clinical studies have discovered and described only a few possibly useful treatments available in the treatment of this disorder. Active social and psychological supports are inevitable in the disease’s management. | hu_HU |
