Sweatshops in the Fast Fashion Industry
Absztrakt
The thesis aimed to learn sweatshops in the fast fashion industry as one of the negative effects of globalisation as sweatshop business model is growing and expanding day by day. This study was done to understand how consumers felt about sweatshops and how they behaved when buying clothing and footwear made in the sweatshops of the fast fashion industry. According to results of our analysis, we found that women spend more money on things made in sweatshops than men do, but we cannot say that women encourage the increase of sales of sweatshop garments because we also found that in general, most people tend to buy sweatshop products, regardless of their gender. These findings indicated that efforts should be made to reduce the frequency of people buying goods produced in sweatshops. We recommended using advertising that demonstrates how buying clothes made in sweatshops frequently boosts sales of such products and leads to the spread of those factories across the world.
