The present thesis aims to put language learning strategies, as important factors of foreign language learning and as neglected factors of Hungarian secondary school English language teaching, in the focus of attention. ’Language learning strategies’ (LLS) is a frequently used term which came into use in the mid 1970s with the spread of the communicative language teaching method and reforms of foreign language teaching.
