The short story called "Dinah, the Christmas Whore" by David Sedaris was translated by Nagy Veronika in 2004. The translation however has many serious problems. My aim with this thesis therefore, is to provide a new Hungarian translation of the short story, considering all of its cultural references and other problematic areas. At first, I elaborated on why it was important to reconsider the published Hungarian translation then I highlighted some of the most problematic issues with it compared to mine: missing parts within the text, cultural elements and mistranslations.hu_HU
