The exploration of the oral microbiome and its relation to periodontal disease etiology reveals that the oral cavity harbors large amount of microbes including bacteria, viruses, fungi, archaea, and protozoa. The investigation of these microorganisms and other factors like host immune response, oral hygiene, and systemic factors reveals the association that exist between the oral microbiome and periodontal disease.hu_HU
