The paper examines the role of Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALL) among Hungarian students. The research aimed to find out what applications students use, how these applications and websites support language learning, and what motivates them to use such platforms. The questionnaire subjects were 18 university students, most of whom use Duolingo, and they mainly use it for vocabulary development. The results show that these tools are mostly used as a complement to traditional forms of learning. Teachers should also be familiar with these applications in order to support students effectively in their language learning. Digital tools are not a complete replacement for the classroom learning environment, but they can be an excellent complement to it.
