The human coronavirus has been responsible for some pandemics in the past of which the most recent being the covid-19 infection. These viruses cause respiratory and gastrointestinal symptoms. The symptoms are usually mild but can be severe and result in life-threatening complications such as pneumonia, ARDS, and multi-organ failure. The fast transmission of this virus requires appropriate preventative measures to reduce the disease burden. Vaccines which are not one-hundred percent effective in preventing the infection but can still reduce its transmission are available (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, etc). People already infected can be treated with current therapies being used for the infection such therapies are Antivirals, immunomodulators, monoclonal antibodies, anticoagulants, etc which help in managing the infection.
