The Integration of Cultural Elements Into the English Language Teaching Curriculum and Its Influence on Language Learners’ Attitude and Motivation

Abstract

In my perspective, Hungary’s English Language Teaching Curriculum’s focus should shift from textbook-centered skills development to the integration of cultural elements into English classes to provide language learners with meaningful learning experiences. In my thesis, I intend to prove that teaching English is not only possible without textbook materials and tasks but by applying a cultural studies-oriented approach with carefully selected supplementary materials and extracurricular topics students’ levels of integrative motivation and attitude toward linguistic studies can significantly improve.
