dc.description.abstractMy thesis aims to analyze how Latin influenced the English language in the Renaissance, the period when the greatest English poet, William Shakespeare lived. I focus on his use of Latinate borrowings, expressions, what effect they had on the audience in his play entitled A You Like It - more precisely in Act V in the dialogue of two side-characters, Touchstone and William.hu_HU
