In this dissertation a description will be given about the operation of light and heavy reflexive marking in connection with introverted and extroverted verbs. In the second chapter, I will give the definition of these terms and I will examine in details the operation of light and heavy reflexive marking. Furthermore, I will talk about the connection between the distinction of introverted and extroverted verbs and reflexive marking. In chapter 3, I will examine English and Hungarian patterns, the conditions and variations of the English like dialect of Hungarian. In addition, I will discuss the operation of light and heavy reflexives as objects of prepositional phrases. Then in chapter 4, I will examine Hungarian introverted verbs, proving that in many cases reflexivity can be expressed without anaphors. The thesis is closed with some summing comments in the last chapter.hu_HU
