Trust and Security in Digital Financial Services: A Study on User Confidence in Laos

Absztrakt
This study focuses on the factors influencing of the user’s trust and confidence in digital financial services (DFS) in Laos, demonstrating the relationships between digital literacy, fraud awareness, customer protection and actual security behaviors. The research applied a quantitative and qualitative techniques approach followed with the survey data from 171 DFS users in Laos. The study found that experience with Digital Financial Services (DFS) significantly influences digital literacy, knowledge of security measures, especially those related to privacy and how to report fraud. This research shows that there has to be an integrated approach that takes into account regulatory openness, behavioral interventions, technical accessibility, security education, and customer support quality in order to increase user confidence in digital financial services.
