dc.description.abstractRecently there has been a growing need for language learning and teaching all around the world, what is more, parents want their children to start learning a second language earlier and at an earlier age. In Hungary, foreign language teaching is more and more in focus, the consumers, the language learners, are enthusiastic about novelties in methods and the effectiveness of results. Social expectations in connection with foreign language knowledge have been gaining an even more powerful face since the change of the regime (Nikolov 2003). Nowadays in Hungary, it is extremely popular among parents to have their children learn a foreign language, to be more precise English, at a young age, for instance when the kid is 5 or 6 years old. It is and was possible to read numerous articles about the negative consequences of an early start. In my thesis, I would like to prove that with the adequate method and the right teacher, children learning languages from their first years of life can have huge advantages and that it is highly beneficial; nevertheless, the right person with the right method is hard to find...
