The aim of this thesis is to enumerate and analyse certain problematic aspects of translating a selection of business texts from English to Hungarian. In preparation for this work, I collected three contemporary business-related texts, all of them from the online version of the respectable The Economist. The thesis itself consists of two main parts, one being the actual translation of a selection of business-related texts (see Appendices), and the other the analysis of a series of issues that surface in my translations. I did not have any particular preconceptions, so I chose these texts more or less randomly (my only limitation was the topic), and then decided which aspects of the translation process would be worth discussing. My approach is practical for the most part, i.e., I intend to rely on my own findings and experience, rather than researching what has been published on the subject before, especially because my work is not intended to arrive at particular conclusions about the theory of translation.hu_HU
