This thesis analyzes four cinematic adaptations made of F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby and aims to find the reason why filmmakers decide to make new adaptations of Fitzgerald's novel every now and then. The thesis demonstrates that The Great Gatsby touches on topics that people from each era preoccupy with, witch makes it worthwhile to recreate the story through cinematic adaptations from time to time.hu_HU
