The rising prevalence of type 2 diabetes is a major cause of concern in global healthcare. Affecting more than 400 million people worldwide. Diabetes is the ninth leading cause of death, claiming over one million lives per year. Diabetes mellitus is becoming more common in the globe, but at a much faster rate in developed regions such as Western Europe. The aim of this research was to look at the burden of type 2 diabetes in European Union member countries. From 2018 to 2020, we undertook a large-scale study in Europe to investigate the incidence, prevalence, and burden of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Our results show that the burden measures are increasing in Hungary, the United Kingdom, Spain, Denmark, and France. . In addition to that, Sweden has seen a rise in death as well as an increase in the number of years of life spent due to type 2 diabetes. Furthermore, diabetes and its complications have been linked to a rise in health-care costs and spending in France, Sweden, and the Netherlands. As a result, immediate public health and clinical prevention steps are needed.
