The first image that comes to one’s mind when thinking of the military tradition of the West and that of the East is probably the knight and the samurai. Although at first glance they might appear as entirely different, they share relatively many characteristics both in terms of history and their values, despite not having come into contact with each other for a long time. Although they are frequently idealized, there is more to these figures than it initially seems. Thus, this paper intends to explore, compare, and contrast the iconic warrior of the West and that of the East with taking a look at their different filmic representations as well.hu_HU
