Proper nutrition intake and regular exercise are essential for the developing body to maintain health. Extreme body weight, which may be a symptom of overweight and obesity in members of developed societies, is, unfortunately, increasingly evident in childhood. The prevalence of obesity in the 6-9 years age group is above average in Hungary, according to WHO data, and the trend shows that this problem will become more important in the next period. In this study, we examine the four hypotheses of our research by analyzing the relationship between healthy eating and regular exercise. Special attention is paid to the examination of the effect of parental behavior and the analysis of snacking habits. In our research we examined the age group of 3-14 years in the institutions of kindergartens and primary schools of Debrecen.
