Based on these researches, I made the foundations of an agricultural scout robot. I used two platforms for the experiments. The first one was the Lego Mindstorms NXT platform, the second one was the Arduino motherboard (including UNO and MEGA versions). My primary goal was to achieve more navigation models. I experimented with autonomous and remote control models as well. The main function of the navigation mechanism for autonomous model provides a scanning algorithm, which scans the terrain closed by four coordinate. This program also contains a terrain obstacle handling mechanism. I used a Microsoft Kinect device to achieve the remote controlled mode. I discovered the possibilities offered by the interior and live data collection. The collected data was saved with territorial unit and a timestamp. To study the background of the microelectronic devices, I started experimenting with motherboards provided by Arduino. I created four programs for the platform, which uses all of my current sensors, including the ultrasonic distance sensor, temperature sensor, humidity sensor and soil moisture sensor. As for the future plans I mention the development opportunities of building a custom-designed motherboard and a modular system that would be installed in a custom-designed chassis.
