The first chapter contains the definition, types and parts of dictionaries; and the brief history of English and Hungarian lexicography. The second chapter includes a detailed description of different types of printed and electronic learners' dictionaries and their role in the EFL classroom. The third chapter comprises a survey about the habits of using dictionaries among students in secondary education.
