The present thesis provides an overview of the creation of the English-Hungarian Translator’s Dictionary in Information Technology (TDIT in the following). It discusses various stages of the corpus-based project, from the building of the SZAK Corpus to the compilation of the actual Dictionary. The thesis attempts, on the one hand, to give full treatment to the theoretical issues concerning corpus design, and dictionary-making, and, on the other hand, it clarifies some technical aspects, namely the process of term extraction necessary for such a project.
