The main aim of this thesis is to demonstrate how songs could be utilized as learning or teaching aids, while also expressing the potential advantages and disadvantages of this method. At first, studying alone with the help of songs will be briefly discussed, then the focus will be on the classroom situations, targeting secondary school students, analyzing and exemplifying how songs may be used in some of the main fields of acquisition such as vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation and listening skills. Lastly, there will be a brief discussion and analysis on the research I have carried out concerning the issue of effectiveness of songs as an aid in the ESL classroom.hu_HU
