Skin exposed to ultraviolet (UV) radiation might develop DNA damage and alterations in the epidermal layer, can lead to cancer. Extraction of genomic material for DNA analysis from epidermal layer in a non-invasive biopsy technique has a major role in skin cancer prediction. Scrape biopsy of the skin is a non-invasive, fast, and usually non-scaring method of epidermal layer sampling. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) in dermatology is used to identify skin structures, and allows monitoring skin damage following different procedures. The aims: To determine whether the quantity and quality of DNA isolation by scrap skin biopsy from patients with skin photoaging is suitable for DNA sequencing. In addition, to define the area and depth of biopsy using OCT device.
