Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető 130 éve született Hulják János (1884–1942)(2024-04-10) Takács, AttilaJános Hulják prominent Hungarian botanist was born 130 years ago. He worked as teacher and director in elementary school at Pereces (today it belong to Miskolc). He played key role in the floristic exploration of Northern Hungarian Mountain Range. His huge herbarium collection was destroyed during World War II., only the exchange material was preserved (about few hundred sheets), mainly in BP and DE. Some vascular plant species [Centaurea huljakii J. Wágner, Sorbus huljakii Kárpáti, Galium × huljakii Jávorka and Pilosella auriculoides subsp. huljakii (Zahn) Soják] were named after him.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető 180 éve született dr. Waisbecker Antal(2015-07-01) Balogh, Lajos; Keszei, BalázsDr. Antal Waisbecker (1835–1916) was a Hungarian physician and the most prominent botanist of Vas county (West Hungary) at the turn of the 19–20 th century. He contributed with important floristic data for the botanical monography of Vas county, authored by Vince Borbás. He processed the pteridophytes of Vas county and cormophytes in the surroundings of Kőszeg. Antal Waisbecker was an expert in the knowledge of sedges too. He discovered and described the Carex fritschii . Remarkable amount of herbarium specimens collected by Waisbecker are deposited at the Savaria Museum (Szombathely, SAMU) and Hungarian Natural History Museum (Budapest, BP).Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető 200 éve született Hazslinszky Frigyes Ágost(2018-01-01) Takács, AttilaMondhatunk-e bármi újdonságot két évszázad távlatában olyasvalakiről, akit kortársai, követői számos alkalommal megemlékezéseikben méltattak? Elfeledett életrajzi dokumentumok vagy a hagyaték feldolgozása nélkül aligha. Hazslinszky Frigyes esetében jelenleg nem állnak rendelkezésünkre az életét és munkásságát új megvilágításba helyező tények, talán mégsem haszontalan feleleveníteni vele kapcsolatos ismereteinket...Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető A 2015-ös év algája szavazás jelöltjei(2016-01-01) B-Béres, Viktória; Nagy-László, Zsolt; T-Krasznai, Enikő; Stenger-Kovács, Csilla; Barreto, Sára; Kiss, Gábor; Buczkó, Krisztina; Abonyi, AndrásWhile science-based education is widespread for macroscopic flora and fauna, the microscopic world has received much less attention. In 2015, having the aim of establishing a tradition, the Phycological Forum announced its first “Alga of the Year” in form of an online voting. The three candidates of algae were Didymosphenia geminata , Haematococcus pluvialis and Prymnesium parvum , from which the Haematococcus pluvialis received the overwhelming majority of votes. Introducing the ecological and economical aspects and distribution of the candidate taxa in Hungary, we aimed at to stress that there is a high educational potential of microscopic life. Furthermore, our study draws the attention to the fundamental role of algae in aquatic ecosystems, stressing their importance in maintaining life.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Adatok a Dél-Nyírség és peremterületei flórájához(2022-07-07) Lovas-Kiss, Ádám; Süveges, KristófIn this paper we provide data on the flora of Monostorpályi, a floristically underrepresented settlement in South-Nyírség and Berettyó–Kálló interfluve, and publish some interesting floristic observations from the Debrecen city area. In our compilation we provide data on 58 plant species. Among the species listed in the enumeration we find taxa from the region not previously reported at all ( Lathyrus nissolia , Gagea villosa , Catabrosa aquatica , Potamogeton lucens , P. pusillus ). In total, we publish new occurrence data for 16 protected plant species, which are generally typical of the natural habitats of the Nyírség, but are on the decline overall (e.g. Hottonia palustris, Dianthus superbus, Cirsium rivulare, Lychnis coronaria ). We also provide data on the distribution of some rare or declining weed species ( Anthemis cotula , Myagrum perfoliatum , Agrostemma githago ) and confirm the previously known occurrence of some poorly known plant species ( Luzula pallidula , Carex hordeistichos ). Furthermore, the spread of some alien species ( Broussonetia papyrifera , Phyllostachys sp . ) is also highlighted.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Adatok a Ducellieria chodatii nyugat-magyarországi előfordulásához(2023-02-07) Bancsó, SándorDuring an algal survey of the peat moss transition bog near Kőszeg, in the Alsó-erdő, which started nearly three years ago, a new, previously unregistered species, Ducellieria chodatii (Ducellier) Teiling, was found in spring 2022. As a pine pollen parasite, its appearance can be linked to the recent increased pollen production in the surrounding pine and pine-mixed stands. Both morphologically and in terms of the environmental conditions of the biotope, the results of the studies were largely consistent with previous relevant data in the literature. Differences from previous literature are the lower spatial depth of the habitat and the high conductivity of one of the sample sites. All this knowledge, together with the accompanying photographs, is intended to serve as a contribution not only to research on the native occurrence of D. chodatii , but also to research on the morphological, taxonomic characteristics and ecological requirements of the species.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Adatok a Duna Komárom-Esztergom és Fejér megyei szakaszainak flórájához(2020-08-16) Riezing, NorbertThe present paper focuses on the aquatic and Nanocyperion vegetation of the Danube floodplain. Most of the data show the results of the surveys in 2019 at low water levels. The Nanocyperion and aquatic vegetation of the Komárom-Esztergom County section is relatively well researched compared to the Fejér County section which was previously poorly known. In the last decade, two rare species – Hippuris vulgaris and Hydrocharis morsus-ranae – have disappeared between Gönyű and Neszmély (Komárom-Esztergom County). In contrast, several new invasive plants have appeared: Salvinia molesta, Myriophyllum aquaticum, Limnobium laevigatum, and Crassula helmsii (first record from Hungary). Vallisneria spiralis and Elodea canadensis were detected again after several decades. Elodea nuttallii and Azolla sp. have become more widespread and abundant than previously. New and uncommon Nanocyperion species were the native and protected Lindernia procumbens and the invasive Lindernia dubia . New invasive plants in the studied Danube sections were: Cyperus esculentus, Euphorbia maculata, and Eleusine indica . The native Veronica catenata and Schoenoplectus triqueter have become more widespread than before. Polygonum graminifolium was an interesting find of open pebble surfaces in several parts of the examined area, which has no recent records in Hungary from before 2015 (published here).Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Adatok a Heves–Borsodi-sík flórájához I. Erdei, erdőssztyepp- és sztyeppfajok elterjedése(2019-01-01) Schmotzer, AndrásThis paper reports new floristic data of 159 taxa (158 species and one hybrid) from the Heves–Borsod Plain (5 micro-regions between the Mátra and Bükk Mountains and the Tisza River valley). The data were collected between 1999 and 2018 and supplemented with collected specimen (altogether 93 herbarium sheets). This study is the first part of a thematic series that analyzes the distribution patterns of forest, forest steppe and dry grassland ‘steppe’ species, beyond reporting floristic data. The data were derived from 51 flora-mapping quadrats (CEU), based on 5.395 field collected data records. Some indicator species of the three species groups have been assessed in detail (with the addition of distribution maps of 25 species). I have also tested two East-West direction ‘lines’ (the 100-meter isoline and the Csörsz Ditch) for the possible existence of North-South chorological gradients in the area. True forest species (mostly Querco-Fagetea elements) show a dispersed pattern, their representatives can be linked to forest blocks appearing in the landscape. Streams from the adjacented hilly areas (even if they are strongly modified) are very important in the dispersal of the forest species. Their significance and role are decreasing towards the South. For some steppe and forest steppe species (e.g. Brachypodium pinnatum , Campanula bononiensis , Clematis recta , Elymus hispidus , Lychnis v iscaria, Ranunculus illyricus , Sanguisorba minor , Stipa spp., Teucrium chamaedrys , Trifolium alpestre , Vinca herbacea ) the examined lines indicate a regional area boundary, while for other species (e.g. Phlomis tuberosa, Thalictrum minus ) gradient-like distribution differences were not observed. In the distribution of many species an additional southern gradient running along the northern boundary of the former Heves Floodplain was detected. Southwards to this line, the representatives of the selected species are already very sporadic, occurring only in synantropic habitats (e.g. Vincetoxicum hirundinaria ).Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Adatok a Keszthelyi-hegység nőszőfűfajainak (Epipactis spp.) ismeretéhez(2018-01-01) Pacsai, BálintIn this paper I present occurrence data of Epipactis species in the Keszthely Mts which were collected during the last four years. Ten species had literary or herbarium data from the area previously, all of them has been confirmed ( Epipactis atrorubens , E. helleborine , E. leptochila , E. microphylla , E. moravica , E. muelleri , E. palustris , E. purpurata , E. nordeniorum , E. voethii ) and another five species ( Epipactis albensis , E. neglecta , E. peitzii , E. pontica , E. tallosii ) furthermore a hybrid (Epipactis × reinekei ) were found newly on the area.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Adatok a Kisalföld flórájához és növényföldrajzához(2015-07-01) Király, Gergely; Takács, Gábor; Király, AngélaLesser Plain (Kisalföld) – divided among three countries (Austria, Hungary and Slovakia) – is the westernmost part of the lowland areas of the Pannonian Basin. Present paper provides a résumé of the authors’ floristic work from the Hungarian part of the area, describing localities, habitats and regional phytogeography of 57 taxa altogether. The localities were listed according to the classification of small geographic regions. The most important results of the study are as follows: We recorded 5 species new to the region ( Brachypodium rupestre , Bromus ramosus , Hypericum dubium , Lathyrus sphaericus , Tordylium maximum ); all of them can be considered as submontane-montane elements. We reported several species new to a microregion within the Lesser Plain: montane species in the W-SW part of the Plain ( Cirsium rivulare , Dryopteris dilatata , Equisetum telmateia ), loess-connected species mainly on the Moson Plateau ( Agropyron cristatum , Allium atroviolaceum , Euphorbia salicifolia , Viola ambigua ); and occurrences of species on sandy soils near the Lake Fertő ( Draba nemorosa , Stipa pennata ). We explained the known localities of several salt tolerant species (e.g. Carex divisa , Crypsis alopecuroides , Juncus maritimus , Limonium gmelinii , Suaeda pannonica ) from the Lake Fertő and its surroundings. We assessed the role of the forest management and nature conservational actions in the distribution of some important tree species ( Acer tataricum , Betula pubescens , Fraxinus ornus , Quercus petraea , Salix pentandra ). We discussed the regional nature conservational status of several protected and/or threatened species (e.g. Allium carinatum , Allium suaveolens , Carex strigosa , Hottonia palustris , Potamogeton coloratus , Stellaria palustris ) in the Lesser Plain. The activities of the authors in the surroundings of Győr were supported by monitoring results gained during the Hungarian Little Plain project (LIFE08 NAT/H/000289).Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Adatok a kőszegi Alsó-erdő egy fiatal tőzegmohás lápfoltjának algaflórájához(2021-09-16) Bancsó, SándorThe Alsó-erdő peat bog near Kőszeg has undergone a significant transformation since its first mention in the literature. In addition to the original single patch, a smaller one appeared a few decades later. The process did not stop and a third unit, discussed here, was formed. The succession of its macrovegetation towards the typical peat moss association started slowly but surely, due to balanced water regime and other optimal environmental conditions. The process is more advanced for the algal vegetation, which shows the characteristics of peat bogs already. The high species diversity found makes the habitat highly valuable itself. Although a special, unique algal species has not been found in previous studies, 27 Desmidiales taxa listed as endangered occur sometimes with high density and make the habitat even more valuable. Based on our results, the area deserves special attention both from the habitat conservation and research point of view. At the same time, its further monitoring can provide crucial information for exploring and understanding the succession of similar habitats, and thereby for their more efficient protection.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Adatok a kőszegi Téglagyári-tó algaflórájához, különös tekintettel néhány Desmidiales képviselőre(2025-10-23) Bancsó, SándorThe western border region of Hungary, including Kőszeg and its surroundings, is a poorly documented region from an algal point of view. The first reason for this is that the major standing water bodies found here are all artificial and relatively young in age. However, in the absence of other natural water bodies, they are important as potential wetland habitats, as is the information needed to conserve them. The present paper is the first to describe the algal flora of Téglagyári-tó in Kőszeg in the context of the planned process of processing lakes and reservoirs in the area. Despite its small size and the disturbance caused by its recreational use, Téglagyári-tó is a species-rich, highly diverse habitat in terms of algal diversity. The Chlorophyta division accounts for the majority of the species recorded, but the Charopyta, Euglenophyta and Heterocontophyta divisions also make a significant contribution. Its value is particularly enhanced by rare species (e.g. Stauridium privum , Cosmarium sinostegos var. obtusius ), not to mention the red-listed endangered species ( Cosmarium anceps , Cylindrocystis brebissonii , Euastrum bidentatum , Euastrum denticulatum , Penium spirostriolatum , Staurastrum oxyacanthum , Staurastrum tetracerum ). A special feature is the presence of desmids ( Euastrum biverrucosum , Euastrum minimum , Staurastrum levanderi var . hollandicum ), which are not yet recorded in the region, and which colonise the slightly alkaline mesotrophic environment of the lake, otherwise known from a more acidic eutrophic environment. As a curiosity, Entomoneis ornata should be mentioned, which was identified in an environment associated with higher salinity waters and only moderately loaded with inorganic nutrients.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Adatok a Malva moschata (Malvaceae) magyarországi szubspontán előfordulásaihoz(2023-12-21) Somlyay, LajosMalva moschata is an alien species in Hungary, seldom cultivated as garden ornamental plant. Although considered as occasional escapee from cultivation, Hungarian literature has only cited Budapest as an example of such cases thus far. During a revision of the Malva collection in BP herbarium, several specimens were traced (mostly erroneously labelled as Malva alcea ) which demonstrate subspontaneous occurrences of the species, primarily from the Transdanubian region (Hungary). The vouchers are hereby listed, arranged in alphabetical order of localities (settlements). Literary connections, if relevant, are briefly discussed.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Adatok a Mecsek hegység zuzmóflórájához(2016-01-01) Kovács, Dániel; Lőkös, LászlóA checklist of 115 lichen taxa was compiled from the Mecsek Mts, based on floristical records of 221 old or recently collected herbarium specimens (incl. 37 duplicates) deposited in the JPU herbarium (Pécs, Hungary). The occurrence of 22 taxa are new for the Mecsek Mts: Arthopyrenia cinereopruinosa , Baeomyces rufus , Candelariella reflexa , Catapyrenium rufescens , Cladonia macilenta , Dimerella pineti , Hypogymnia tubulosa , Ochrolechia arborea , Pleurosticta acetabulum , Pseudevernia furfuracea , Psilolechia lucida , Pycnothelia papillaria , Rinodina sophodes , Tomasellia arthonioides , Toninia candida , Trapelia involuta , Varicellaria hemisphaerica , Verrucaria marmorea , V. nigrescens , V. parmigera , Xanthoparmelia conspersa, X. verruculifera . One legally protected lichen species ( Peltigera leucophlebia ) is also represented by two specimens.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Adatok a Pannon Ökorégió őshonos növényfajainak ismeretéhez I. This paper deals with the families Lycopodiaceae, Brassicaceae, Crassulaceae, Rosaceae and Orchidaceae. We document the occurrence of Lycopodiella inundata from a ski slope on the outskirts of Nagyhuta (Northern-Hungary) as a new species in Hungarian flora. New occurrence data are reported for the roadside spreading Sedum caespitosum and Thlaspi alliaceum . We report on the specimens of Spiraea crenata found in the interior of settlements (gardens, cemeteries) between 2019 and 2024. New occurrences of several orchid species rare in Hungary are reported: Himantoglossum adriaticum from the Mecsek Mts, the Balaton highlands, the Bakony Mts and the Szigetköz regions (Western-Hungary); Ophrys fuciflora from Zala and Veszprém counties (Western-Hungary); Dactylorhiza fuchsii from Mezőföld region; Orchis mascula subsp. signifera from the northern part of the Great Plain (Northeastern-Hungary).Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Adatok a Pannon Ökorégió őshonos növényfajainak ismeretéhez II. We report the current occurrence of Nowellia curvifolia in the Sub-Pannonian region of Slovenia. We present an exceptionally species-rich habitat for ferns ( Athyrium filix-femina , Dryopteris carthusiana , D. dilatata , D. filix-mas , Gymnocarpium dryopteris , Polystichum aculeatum ) from the ‘Borsodi ártér’ microregion. We provide data on the stands of Thelypteris palustris observed along the main irrigation canals of ‘Tiszántúl’ region. We publish new occurrence records contributing to the Hungarian distribution of Aethionema saxatile , Crataegus nigra , Elatine hungarica , Sium sisarum , Orobanche hederae , Himantoglossum adriaticum , Epipactis placentina , E. exilis , E. pseudopurpurata , and E. microphylla , as well as to the appearance of Helosciadium repens in urbanized environment. Gagea spathacea and G. bohemica are newly recorded for the Zemplén Mts; Epipactis nordeniorum and Epipogium aphyllum are new for the flora of the Mátra Mts; and Himantoglossum calcaratum is newly recorded for Hungary. We also present spontaneous establishment of several orchid species in the courtyard of a secondary school in Veszprém. Additionally, we report on the pollinating insects observed on the flowers of Sternbergia colchiciflora . Two previously misreported records are also corrected.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Adatok a sásfajok (Carex, Cyperaceae) előfordulásához a Dél-Nyírségben és környékén(2021-10-07) Demeter, László; Szél, LászlóWe provide floristic data on a total of 38 sedge species in the area of South Nyírség and its immediate surroundings. We also detected some populations of previously undescribed or rare species in the Hungarian Great Plain, such as Carex buxbaumii , Carex hartmanii , Carex umbrosa , and Carex paniculata . We report several new occurrences of species with little literature data from the area, such as Carex brizoides , Carex michelii , Carex pallescens , Carex elongata . However, during the last 13 years, we were not able to detect seven species previously mentioned in the literature. Herbarium data confirmed that some of the older Carex nigra occurrences for the area actually refer to Carex cespitosa . Based on herbarium data and the literature, we think that local data on Carex pairaei may largely refer to Carex divulsa subsp. leersii and/or Carex spicata . Contrary to many pieces of literature, Carex vulpina was not observed inside the sandy area.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Adatok a Sorbus bakonyensis elterjedéséhez és megőrzéséhez(2022-10-03) Bauer, NorbertSorbus bakonyensis (Jáv.) Jáv. (syn. S. majeri Barabits) is an apomictic species with a very narrow distribution range in the Bakony Mts (Hungary). Its previous occurrence data were published only from Kopasz Mt. (~Kápolna Hill, Csordás valley) above the village Márkó. It was possible to slightly expand the known area of the species to the East and to the West (Kis-Bükk Mt) of Kopasz Mt. with a detailed mapping. Due to the number of known individuals (six mature trees and a variable number of seedlings) and its small distribution range (~2 km 2 ) the species is critically endangered. Regarding its small population, the high number of big game (wild boar, red deer) and the more and more frequent drought periods are significant risk factors. In situ preservation of the species is still a realistic goal, but ex situ propagation in tree nurseries and reintroduction to the suitable habitats of the mapped area (clearings, forest edges) are also justified.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Adatok a színes békaszőlő (Potamogeton coloratus) hazai előfordulásához(2017-01-01) Mesterházy, Attila; Vidéki, Róbert; Lukács, Balázs András; Mészáros, András; Molnár V., AttilaThe distribution of fen pondweed ( Potamogeton coloratus ) restricted to Europe where it is one of the rarest and most threatened pondweed species. In Hungary, former data of fen pondweed originated mostly from thermal and karstic springs. Due to intensive bauxite mining activity in the edge of the Transdanubian Mountain Range (NW Hungary) these springs dried up by the end of the 20 th century, and it caused the temporal extinction of the species. After the ceasing of mining activity many of the former karstic springs have regenerated and several fen pondweed populations have re-established. In this paper we summarized 18 population data of fen pondweed collected between 1999 and 2016. Many of them were formerly registered in the 19 th century too. Most of the new and re-discovered populations were found in karstic springs or in artificial and natural lakes in the vicinity of these springs.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Adatok a Szuha-vízgyűjtő és környéke flórájához(2022-03-07) Szentgyörgyi, Péter; Bátori, GáborThis paper presents new floristic data of 415 taxa from the Putnok Hills and Sajó Valley microregions (Northern Hungary). Records were collected between 1991 and 2021. In the first part new occurrences of legally protected (e.g., Cypripedium calceolus , Iris aphylla subsp. hungarica , Lycopodium clavatum , Thalictrum aquilegiifolium , Pyrola rotundifolia , Scorzonera purpurea , Stipa pulcherrima ) and not protected but locally rare or data-deficient species (e.g., Myosurus minimus , Thalictrum simplex , Sisymbrium loeselii , Camelina microcarpa , Potentilla collina , Trifolium striatum , Geranium pratense , G. dissectum , G. divaricatum , Viola pumila , Epilobium roseum , Myriophyllum spicatum , Pimpinella major , Berula erecta , Trinia ramosissima , Centaurium pulchellum , Nepeta cataria , Limosella aquatica , Veronica scutellata , Orobanche arenaria , Utricularia vulgaris , Galium elongatum , Cephalaria transsylvanica , Dipsacus fullonum , Xanthium saccharatum , Alisma lanceolatum , Elodea canadensis , Potamogeton pectinatus , P. berchtoldii , P. lucens , P. nodosus , Zannichellia palustris , Sisyrinchium bermudiana , Melica picta , Elymus elongatus , Leersia oryzoides , Typha laxmannii , Eriochloa villosa ) are presented. This chapter contains data on 246 species from which 8 are new for the flora of the Tornense flora region and 47 for its subregion, the Putnok Hills. Further contributions to the distribution data of Atlas Florae Hungariae are presented in Electronic Appendix. This section contains raw occurrence data of 169 species.
