Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Kognitív kompetenciák felmérése hátrányos helyzetű óvodások körében Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, Hajdú-Bihar és Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg megyében(2024-12-27) Szerepi, SándorBetween 2017-2020 I was a member in the project called „Opportunity Maker Kindergarten” (EFOP-3.1.3-16-2016-00001). It was organised by the National Educational Office. The purpose of this project is helping and supporting the kindergartens which are teaching and educating lots of disadvantaged (and roma) children. There was an important part of this work: taking an ability measurement by the kindergarten teachers. It was a special measurement, because we collected their judgements of some statement. In the study, we looked at children aged 5-7 years. The statements described the cognitive competences of children. Results were obtained in three categories (perception, thinking and imagination), in five dimensions per category, from the kindergartens participating in the project in the three selected counties. In the overall survey, kindergartens provided information on a total of 1,112 children, with the following numbers of responses in the three counties analysed: 259 in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, 178 in Hajdú-Bihar and 271 in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg. No significant difference was observed in the results: only in the category of perception and sensation did the data from Sablos score higher in several areas e.g. in the case of tactile and visual perception.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Óvodai intézményvezetők (igazgatók) véleménye a sajátos nevelési igényű gyermekek ellátásával és integrációjával kapcsolatban(2024-12-27) Mező, Katalin; Juhász , AnnaProviding the opportunity for integrated education has become an expectation in all public education institutions today. The success of integration primarily depends on the inclusive perspective of the institutions implementing integrated education and the institutional inclusive culture developed as a result, in which institutional leaders play a significant role. This study explored the opinions of preschool directors regarding the integration of children with special educational needs. A total of 74 preschool directors from religious, local goverment, private, and other types of institutions were contacted for the study. Data analysis was conducted both descriptively and with a mathematical statistical approach. The applied mathematical statistical methods were the chi-square test and the Kruskal-Wallis test. According to our results, the type of institution has an impact on directors' views regarding the integration of children with special educational needs. Regarding integration, 75% of directors believed that the care of children with special educational needs imposes an additional burden on preschool teachers. The results also highlighted that a lack of expertise required for integration remains a problem in preschools. The majority of institutional leaders were at least moderately satisfied with the approach of the institutions' sponsors in providing material conditions to support integration, but they were less positive about the availability of personnel resources.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Autizmus spektrum zavarral korán diagnosztizált óvodás gyermekek mozgásfejlesztésének tapasztalatai szülői szemmel(2024-12-27) Müller , Anetta; Mező, Katalin; Szilágyiné Popovics , Zita; Vargáné Nagy, Anikó; Laoues-Czimbalmos , NóraThe movement and the developmental of motor skills is a crucial role for every child, as motor and cognitive states and development are closely interconnected. Preschool years represent a particularly important period for motor development, as the motor skills and abilities developed during this time are decisive for the entire later life. This study addresses the characteristics of movement and the effectiveness of interventions for children with autism spectrum disorder, examined from the parents' perspective. The investigation, based on personal interviews (n=28), involved parents raising children who were diagnosed early with autism spectrum disorder. The data obtained from the interviews we were analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative methods, including frequency and content analysis, to identify recurring patterns and individual differences. Through thematic coding and categorization of responses, three main themes we were identified: 1) Characteristics of motor functions, 2) The significance of early diagnosis, 3) Development and developmental interventions.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Az Ovi-Sport Program pilot vizsgálata néhány debreceni óvodában(2024-12-27) Szabó , Éva; Rábai, DávidThe aim of this study is twofold: first, to present the development, essence, and key elements of the Ovi-Sport Program, and second, to assess, through an empirical pilot questionnaire survey, the opinions of preschool teachers (n=52) from several preschools in Debrecen regarding the Program. The goal is to identify, based on the responses of the surveyed preschool teachers, the strengths and weaknesses of the Program. The research questions aimed to explore the following: the practical purposes for which the respondents use the Ovi-Sport track, whether they are methodologically prepared for the widespread implementation of the Ovi-Sport Program, and what they perceive as the main strengths and weaknesses of the Program's operation. Based on the results, it can be stated that preschool teachers generally have a positive evaluation of the existence of the Ovi-Sport Program. In addition to positive feedback, the respondents pointed out areas that they suggest require further consideration and development, such as the insufficiency of the methodological materials available in the Program, which need to be expanded and revised. Furthermore, the surveyed teachers expressed the need for additional professional training and the involvement of external experts to provide assistance.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető A Kisteleki kistérségben élő gyermekek, fiatalok és családjaik helyzetének, igényeinek és szükségleteinek felmérése(2024-12-27) Laki , Ildikó; Kocsis , Péter CsabaPoverty research in Hungary has more than a decade of experience. The issue of poverty and child poverty is one of the most prominent challenges of domestic social policy, and it is hoped that by addressing it correctly and providing appropriate services, it will be possible to reduce the recurrence of poverty. Since accession to the European Union, particular attention has been paid to specific areas of social inclusion, such as disadvantaged areas, the problem of districts to be developed and the specificities arising from social differences. One response to these territorial disparities and the resulting social challenges has been to launch services to compensate for disadvantages. In this study, we present the results of the Kistelek district municipalities of the Child Poverty Programme, with some highlighted aspects. It is also considered significant because it was a replication of an earlier survey in 2012, with data from several districts - Baktalórántházai, Bátonyterenie, Hegyháti, Hevesi, Kistelek and Szécsényi.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Az alvás körülményeinek vizsgálata az óvodás korú gyermekek életében(2024-12-27) Vargáné Nagy, Anikó; Molnár-Kovács , MáriaThis study explores the conditions surrounding nap in the lives of kindergarten-aged children, focusing on both family and kindergarten environments. Recognizing that restful napping and relaxation are essential for healthy development, the research aims to identify factors that support or hinder children's nap quality. The study examines the effects of nap-related habits and practices, addressing both beneficial and detrimental influences on children's daily well-being. The goal is to uncover outdated or ineffective approaches to nap management and to promote strategies that consider the individual needs of children. By investigating the conditions of nap and rest, the study contributes to the development of nap hygiene for kindergarten-aged children. This includes providing insights that can guide parents and educators in adopting more effective methods to support children's mental health and overall well-being through proper nap routines.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető A „közeg motiváló volt” – a szervezeti hely, mint alapjellemző az óvoda-iskolapszichológiai struktúrában a Kőbányai Iskolapszichológiai Modell (KIM) tükrében(2025-09-28) Borbáth, KatalinAfter presenting school psychology organizational models from the perspective of organizational position, the study analyzes certain aspects of the Kőbánya School Psychology Model. The empirical material of the article consists of qualitative interview analyses. The survey corresponds to the research material of the author’s earlier article (Borbáth-Kürty, 2025), but this study undertakes an analysis from a different perspective. In the study, the main and subthemes identified through deductive and inductive content analysis of interviews in the genre of oral history are organized into thematic content clusters. This study focuses on the presentation of subthemes related to attitudes toward organizational position, emotions connected to the organization, group formation, and afterlife, and it also includes several examples of good practices. The conclusions emphasize the complex impact of the organizational model and highlight the determining role of organizational position and affiliation with a professional center, which influences the Kőbánya School Psychology Model as an organizational model in its entirety, including the motivational foundation and elements supporting mental health. Furthermore, these models may also indicate the level of attachment to the workplace.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Interpersonal Closeness and the Meaning of Life of Adolescents - Preventive and Therapeutic Value.(2025-09-28) Buchalik, Emilia; Pyrczak-Piega, MonikaIn this article, the authors will present an extremely interesting and at the same time very topical topic concerning two areas - interpersonal closeness and adolescents' sense of meaning in life. Young people today, in what we can call the age of consumerism, focus on taking rather than giving. Interpersonal relationships are diminishing, closeness, as well as the sense of life, in young people, are losing their value. This can lead to many dangerous situations, as a consequence of which the adolescent may stop coping with life in the real world. The article presents a qualitative study of young people from Poland. The study used a structured interview, whose questions concerned the meaning of life and the sense of interpersonal closeness. The results of the study have preventive and therapeutic value.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető A mesterséges intelligencia gyógypedagógiai célú felhasználási lehetőségei(2025-06-29) Mező, KatalinThis study explores the potential applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in the context of special education. The discussion focuses on those areas of special needs education in which the implementation of AI is already supported by empirical evidence and practical experience. Accordingly, the study examines the potential uses of AI in the following domains: 1) personalized learning and adaptive educational methods; 2) the development of communication and social skills; 3) assistive technologies and accessibility supported by AI; 4) the role of AI in early diagnosis and intervention; and 5) AI-based support for teachers and assistance in designing and implementing individual development plans (IEPs).Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Beszámoló a X. In today’s world, the target language use takes place in entirely different contexts and forms – partly due to digitalization. This study explores the language proficiency patterns of secondary school students, including the language they speak, the types of these languages, their self-reported level of English proficiency, and the number of English language exams taken. It also examines the everyday forms of target language use. The analysis draws on two waves of a national Hungarian survey (Hungarian Youth 2016, N=1548, Hungarian Youth 2020, N=1587), enabling a comparison of data. In the case of the 2020 dataset, two regression models were run to explain, respectively, the level of English proficiency at or above the intermediate level and the possession of English language certificates. The result indicates the dominance of the English language and its increasing prevalence between 2016 and 2020, while the number of spoken languages showed a slight decline. At the same time, a positive change was observed in the level of language proficiency regarding the languages spoken. Proficiency in English at or above the intermediate level is embedded in a broad set of explanatory variables, including parental education, financial situation, and various forms of language use (e.g. watching films or movies). The factors influencing the possession of language certificates differ from those explaining general language proficiency.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Between Tradition and Modernity: Navigating Ethical Leadership in Jordan’s Hybrid Organizational Culture(2025-12-22) Alshawabkeh, Maram Hani FalahThis study investigates the evolving dynamics of ethical leadership within Jordan’s public sector, focusing on the Ministry of Water and Irrigation as a representative case. Through an ethnographic methodology involving in-depth interviews and participant observation, the research explores how leaders navigate the intersection of traditional socio-cultural norms and modern managerial frameworks. The findings reveal that ethical leadership in Jordan operates within a hybrid moral system, where formal values such as procedural fairness and institutional accountability coexist with—and are often challenged by—informal obligations tied to tribal loyalty, kinship networks, and communal expectations. Gender and generational shifts further complicate this ethical landscape, as younger and female leaders increasingly advocate for transparency, meritocracy, and gender equity. The study highlights the necessity of adopting a culturally responsive, pluralistic understanding of ethical leadership that reflects the complex realities of Jordanian organizations. These insights have practical implications for leadership development programs and contribute to the broader discourse on ethical leadership in non-Western contexts.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Lucidum Intervallum and Criminal Responsibility: Assessing Mental Disorder in a Criminal Case in Debrecen, 1768-1769(2025-12-22) Biczó, AndrásThis study in the history of criminal law examines a homicide case from the eighteenth-century legal practice of the Free Royal City of Debrecen that has not yet been explored in detail. Drawing on archival documents relating to the criminal proceedings initiated before the city’s magistracy in 1768, the study reviews the main phases of the process, reconstructs the arguments of the prosecution and the defence, and analyses how the defendant’s criminal responsibility was assessed in light of evidence indicating that he suffered from a mental disorder. Beyond clarifying the significance of the defendant’s mental state from a criminal law perspective, the case also provides an opportunity to explore the contemporary concept of lucidum intervallum in greater depth and to highlight evidentiary challenges associated with proving it in eighteenth-century criminal proceedings.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Különleges Bánásmód, 2024.10(3)(2024-09-30) Különleges Bánásmód Folyóirat, SzerkesztőségeJournal of Special Treatment, 2024.Vol.10.(3) - full textTétel Szabadon hozzáférhető A mesterséges intelligencia szerepe a kutatástámogatásban(2025-06-29) Hajdu, KrisztiánThe application of artificial intelligence (AI) in scientific research is becoming increasingly widespread, offering significant potential to enhance the efficiency of researcher work and improve the quality of research. This study examines the role of artificial intelligence in research, with particular attention to literature search and analysis (Tolner et al., 2023), data processing and evaluation (Bessenyei, 2020), and content generation (Szűts & Námesztovszki, 2023). Employing the method of hermeneutic analysis (Bos & Tarnai, 1999), we explore the opportunities that AI offers in these areas, while also presenting the associated challenges and ethical considerations. Our results demonstrate that AI can lead to significant time savings and increased efficiency, as well as aid in the discovery of complex patterns. However, it is important to consider the limitations of AI, such as the lack of deeper understanding, potential biases, and questions regarding the reliability of generated content. The study concludes that artificial intelligence does not replace the human researcher, but rather functions as a knowledge support tool (Z. Karvalics, 2024), the responsible and ethical application of which is crucial to ensure scientific progress.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Self-Concept as a Correlate of Academic Achievement of Special Needs Students in Kwara State(2025-03-31) Okafor, Ifeoma; Iyekolo, Alexander OlusholaSpecial education has shifted from a position of delivering professional services to students with disabilities to a system that seeks to encompass the broad concept of promoting quality education for students. This study examined the self-concept as correlate of academic achievement of special needs students in Kwara State. The study adopted a descriptive survey research type. Special needs students in the three local government areas in Ilorin, Ilorin South, East and West Local Governments Area constituted the total population for this research. The researchers designed a questionnaire entitled: self-concept as a correlate of academic achievement of special needs students’ questionnaire” (SCCASNSQ). 200 questionnaire forms were administered. Research questions were answered using mean score, while inferential statistics of mean, standard deviation and Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) were used to test the formulated hypotheses. The finding of the study revealed that academic ability, physical ability, social ability, emotional ability, general self-worth ability and scholastic ability influence self-concept as correlate of academic achievement of special needs students in Kwara State. More so, there was no significant relationship between self-concept and academic achievement of special needs students in Kwara state in Kwara state. There was significant relationship between religion, school type, age and self-concept and academic achievement of special needs students in Kwara State. The findings concluded that while self-concept may not directly influence academic achievement among special needs students in Kwara State, factors such as religion, school type, and age significantly impact both self-concept and academic performance. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended among others that parents and other stakeholders in the education sector should enhance adolescents’ interpersonal relationship by strengthening their physical, social and emotional self-concepts through relevant social skills training.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Exploring Traditional Roles of Women among the Bukusu in Precolonial Kenya(2025-03-31) Simuli, Damaris Werunga; Biczó, GáborFrom existing scholarly sources, the traditional Bukusu community in western Kenya existed on a structured socio-economic, political, and cultural framework. Gender roles were played out distinctively by men and women, boys and girls. However, external factors continue to influence the contemporary community, creating a fluid and blurry distinction of roles. This paper focuses on women's roles in the traditional Bukusu community to uncover their cultural significance and impact on social structures. This article analyzes how these roles shaped the community's identity and influenced interpersonal and generational dynamics. To achieve this objective, the study uses a comprehensive literature review methodology and authors’ observations from the Bukusu community to identify patterns, contradictions, and gaps in the current body of knowledge. The literature review synthesizes data from ethnographic studies, historical texts, and relevant scholarly works; hence, this article provides a basis for understanding the historical and cultural significance of the roles of Bukusu women. We establish that women's traditional roles in the Bukusu community were based on the community's patrilineal structure, some of which continue to be reinforced. These included marriage, fecundity, childbearing, caregiving, food security, home management, ownership and wealth sources, and craftsmanship. In contrast, others continue to undergo significant transformations due to underlying factors that are not the focal point of this paper for now. Further, women's roles are deeply rooted in Bukusu cultural values and practices, which are critical in maintaining social cohesion and transmitting cultural heritage. This work is a foundation for further scholarly work on women, culture, and change.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Exploring the Vietnamese Immigrants' Experience in Hungary: an Intersectional Analysis(2025-03-31) Tran, KhaThe way Vietnamese immigrants in Budapest negotiate their multiple identities is by all means but simple. It is a mix of personal belongings, culture, and how society sees them. In today’s more and more globalized world, people move between different cultures all the time, adjusting themselves to new social rules and expectations. Identity is not something fixed—it changes all the time, influenced by both a person’s background and the pressure to fit into the new society. For Vietnamese immigrants in Budapest, this idea means trying to keep their traditions and connections to their community while also finding a place in Hungarian society. In this process, big questions come up: Where do they belong? Are they accepted or excluded? How do they define themselves? The immigrant experience is often full of mixed feelings—sometimes they feel close to both cultures, sometimes they feel distant from both. They are always rethinking where they stand between their old home and their new. This paper attempts to explore the ways Vietnamese immigrants in Budapest navigate through the host society while balancing their multiple identities in a multicultural context.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Sayaw Ng Bati: The System Of Easter Dance Sponsorship In Angono, Rizal, The Philippines(2025-03-31) Tamayo, Jose Antonio LorenzoThe brand of Catholicism that exists in the Philippines blends both Christian and folk traditions. During the precolonial period, sponsoring community rituals was obligatory for the datu (chieftain) and the local aristocracy, as these events consumed significant resources. The Christianization of the country through Spanish colonization transformed precolonial sponsorship traditions as new sponsorship practices emerged among the local elites, aligning them with the veneration of the santo (images of saints) and the fiesta (the feast of the town’s patron saint). This article explores a distinct Catholic sponsorship system in the Southern Tagalog region called sayaw ng bati or bati , a dance ritual performed in Angono, Rizal, during Easter. Based on in-depth interviews conducted with three performers, the article provided an overview of bati as a sponsorship system, focusing on the process of becoming a performer and the corresponding motivations, the material and economic aspects of the practice, and the positioning of bati within the context of panata (devotional pledge).Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Inter-Diasporic Relations: The Tunisian Diaspora and Arab/Muslim Communities in Hungary(2025-03-31) Yossri , JallouliAs the study of human cultures, traditions, and the way communities develop their cultural identities, cultural anthropology analyzes how various groups develop and evolve in different socio-cultural environments. The primary focus of this scientific field of studies is the investigation of migration, diasporas, and cultural exchanges which represent the main factors contributing to identity creation and adaptability within heterogeneous contexts. Within this framework, this paper explores inter-diasporic relations. More specifically, the Tunisian diaspora in Hungary and its contacts with other Arab and Muslim populations, particularly Turkish, Moroccan, and Syrian groups, in addition to their interactions with locals and other different groups.
