Az anafora-használatot kutató nyelvészeti munkákban nyitott kérdés, hogy felléphetnek-e névmások indirekt anaforikus szerepben, és ha igen, milyen feltételek mellett lehetséges ez. Cornish és mtsi. (2005) - akik nagyban hozzájárultak az iménti probléma tisztázásához - munkáját alapul véve, a disszertáció fő célja, hogy a következő hipotézist tesztelje: Egy névmás, amely nem alanyi pozícióban lép fel, sikeresen (felicitously) visszautalhat egy implicit referensre anélkül, hogy az anyanyelvi beszélők grammatikalitási ítéletei negatív eredményt hoznának – azonban csak azzal a feltétellel, hogy az implicit referens nukleáris és nem periferikus. Az empirikus munka eredményei megerősítik a fenti hipotézist, noha a vártnál gyengébben. A kutatás hozzájárul ahhoz, hogy az indirekt névmási anaforákat a németben is a koherencia (és nem a kohézió) elfogadott és gyakran használt nyelvi eszközeinek tekintsük, bizonyítva, hogy a grammatikalitási ítéletek a nyelvészeti megismerés tanulságos és informatív forrásai lehetnek. / The possibility of using pronouns as indirect anaphors or the conditions under which this could possibly be done, have not satisfactorily been clarified for a long time. Based on the work of Cornish et al. (2005), the main aim of the dissertation is to test the following hypothesis with the help of online-questionnaires using German dialogues: A non-subject pronoun can felicitously retrieve an implicit referent without native speaker grammaticality judgments (GJs) turning out negative – but only on the condition that it is “nuclear” and not “peripheral” in terms of the situation which is evoked. The results of the empirical work confirm the hypothesis mentioned above, although weaker than expected. The dissertation contributes to regarding indirect pronominal anaphors as accepted and widely used coherence phenomena, presenting GJ-tests as an adequate research method in linguistic work.
