Reziliens életúttal a pedagógus pályán(2020-11-29) Kozma, Kitti; Ceglédi, TímeaBeing successful at school as a Roma student is a crucial sociological question. Roma teachers’ experience is invaluable when seeking to understand and solve problems that students with similar backgrounds have. Resilience is our academic starting point. In PISA who belong to a lower social class but have higher achievements are called resilient students. Educational sociologists say that a person’s life is resilient when it is successful, notwithstanding the disadvantaged social background (Ceglédi 2018). We have analysed Roma teachers with resilient lives and looked for answers to what kind of possibilities and dangers of a resilient life might hide in the pedagogical career. Given a unique target group, we chose snowball sampling. 6 semistructured interviews were made in eastern Hungary in 2019, in which we emphasized the resilience of their life taken, the pedagogic job, and their connection. We did qualitative analysis of the transcripts. The resilient Roma teachers incorporate their life experience into their pedagogic fields and their coping serves as a model for their students.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Audiometria és dopping ellenőrzés a siketek versenysportjában(2021-11-30) Szulc, Adam Michał; Balatoni, Ildikó; Kopeć, SylwiaAz elmúlt negyven évben 2,5 -szeresére nőtt a nyári Siketolimpiai játékok résztvevőinek és a résztvevő országoknak a száma. A dinamikusan fejlődő siket sportok fair play szellemisége érdekében a Siketek Nemzetközi Sportszövetsége (International Committee of Sports for the Deaf, ICSD) szabályokat vezetett be, amelyek meghatározzák a nagyothalló sportolók sporteseményeken való részvételét. A legalább 55 dB -es halláskárosodással rendelkező személyek a megengedettek. Ennek megfelelően az audiometriai vizsgálat képezi az első doppingellenőrzési kritériumot. 2004 óta az ICSD együttműködik a Nemzetközi Doppingellenes Ügynökséggel. A második feltétel tehát a tiltott anyagok vér- és vizeletminta-ellenőrzése. A 2017. évi 23. nyári Siketolimpián 2858 sportoló vett részt. Összességében 842 (29,5%) résztvevőt véletlenszerűen vetettek alá audiológiai tesztnek; 9 különböző országból érkező versenyzőt kizártak az ICSD szabványok be nem tartása miatt. Összesen 300 véletlenszerűen kiválasztott sportoló vett részt doppingellenőrzésen tiltott szerek miatt; egyet zártak ki. A szakirodalomból jelenleg hiányoznak a siket sportokkal, köztük a vonatkozó doppingellenőrzésekkel kapcsolatos tudományos elemzések.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Autizmusban érintett tanulók körében alkalmazható anti-bullying megközelítés egy szakirodalmi áttekintés tükrében(2019-09-13) Marjai, KamillaThe investigation of the phenomenon called bullying has started approximately five decades ago and simultaneously prevention and intervention programs have been developed. Shedding light on the concern of students with disabilities, such as children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders has delayed. The focused programs for students with autism are still missing, though it is likely that the tools and aiming of prevention and intervention should not be irrespective of the nature and diagnosis of autism and the identified risk factors.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Azonosságok és különbségek – Munkaattitűdök és a munkával való elégedettség jellemzői 2005-2018 között(2022-05-31) R. Fedor, Anita; Libicki, Éva; V. Balla, PetraIn our study, we present the domestic aspects of work-related attitudes, focusing on the period after the turn of the millennium. In our analytical work, we aimed to examine the characteristics of job satisfaction, work-related attitudes, and work-related stress in a database of two national and one county seat. In our writing, in addition to the descriptive analysis of the three databases, we focus on exploring possible changes and differences in time and space. According to our results, the job satisfaction of the respondents of the two national surveys shows almost the same pattern, while the opinion of the local society shows a different and more unfavorable picture. This can be explained, among other things, by the fact that our local survey took place in one of the most disadvantaged counties of the country, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county. In addition, it should be emphasized that the location of our research, as the county seat, still has more favorable conditions than other settlements in its agglomeration. The other two national databases that form the basis of the analysis were created within the framework of the International Social Survey Program. Based on Herzberg's two-factor model, we can conclude that certain factors belonging to the group of external motivations, such as favorable earnings, job security are equally important for all groups of respondents. This is consistent with the terminology of work as a core value for livelihood. According to the national sample conducted in 2005, the internal motivational factors, such as the interest and usefulness of the work, and the importance of the work that can be done independently were the most decisive. The opinions of the 2015 national and 2018 local respondents were nearly the same in this respect. Overall, it can be stated that both the differences and the similarities characterize the job satisfaction, work attitude and work-related stress situation of the respondents of the three survey years. The issue of divergence and convergence is shaped not only by regional characteristics, but also by social and economic processes and the social and individual responses to them.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Book review: Anita R. The rate at which IVF and surrogacy arrangement have been engaged globally has raised alarm to scholars in medicine, sociology, law, social work, psychology, and religion among other fields. Improved methods and unarguable advantages of surrogacy particularly to couples in dire need of children has left even more questions unanswered. The focus of this research is placed on the interdisciplinary factors that influences the practice of surrogacy. Due to the paucity of data on the subject, a systematic review of relevant published articles dated until 2023 were engaged within survey design. This study argues that surrogacy is not welcomed in many societies, however, it is also clearly noted that it is currently practiced in several countries. Interdisciplinary collaboration has been situated within surrogacy practice, and the findings of this study is prominent for such.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető A cigány/roma közösségek kutatásának hazai irányai és legismertebb eredményei(2022-05-31) Láczay, MagdolnaGypsy communities have been known in Hungarian majority society for half a millennium. However, sources are poor and only provide information on a few aspects of their lives. Some scholars have attempted to define this sporadic, small group of people when their numbers have increased significantly. In the second half of the 20th century, archivists and ethnographers began to investigate their origins, their common history, the origin of their names, and the specific characteristics that shape their way of life, language, culture and beliefs. Their findings have led to their being defined as a minority, but they are now estimated to number between 10 and 12 million in Europe. There are naïve researchers and advocates of Gypsy/Roma history who believe that the glories of the past and the persecutions of the past are to be found, but in scientific research, the view is becoming increasingly accepted that the communities of the past centuries in Europe and Hungary, known by their collective name of Gypsy/Roma, cannot be described as homogeneous, undifferentiated entities, either historically, ethnographically or sociologically. Throughout history, Roma/Gypsy people and communities have not been made Roma/Gypsy by the same criteria, and therefore they must be understood primarily in terms of their social situation, so that their integration can be made possible and the national and EU programmes of schooling, compulsory employment and the dismantling of Roma settlements can open up real paths to social advancement.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Coping Strategies of Elite Hungarian Junior Handball Players(2020-05-08) Ökrös, Csaba; Kőnig-Görögh, Dóra; Gyömbér, NoémiSeveral studies provided instruments, with the possibility to measure self-assessment and coping strategies. This study aimed to study differences in coping strategies by age groups and gender in handball players. For psychological profile the Athletic Coping Skills Inventory (ACSI-28) was applied, at elite Hungarian junior handball teams (n=288) in 2016-2017. On the scales Coping with Adversity and Freedom From worry males acquired significantly higher average values, females showed higher mean values of Goal Setting / Mental Preparation and Coachability. On Freedom from Worry, the oldest players performed the best, Coachability was highest in the youngest group. High values of Concentration were measured by playmakers, which was significantly higher than that of other offensive roles. With the results of our study, we would like to draw attention to the fact that for successful preparation, the knowledge of the athlete's coping skills and their self-knowledge are in dispensable.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető A COVID hatás okozta társadalmi változások becslése / Bódi Ferenc gondolatainak továbbfűzése(2021-11-30) Láczay, MagdolnaThe article by Ferenc Bódi appeared in the spring issue of this journal in the spring of 2021. He undertook to estimate the impact of the changes caused by the pandemic on health care and the expected economic and social changes. His study, due to the scale of the pandemic, is a macro-level analysis. When the study came out, we all hoped that the COVID-19 epidemic was already coming to an end and that we needed to focus on starting again. Society has partly faded, partly realized that this epidemic is different from the previous ones. This encouraged me to continue to think about some of the Hungarian phenomena and to express my thoughts on the expected changes. I cannot undertake to analyze all areas of the crisis caused by the epidemic, but I will make an attempt to present its phenomena in health care, their interpretation, and the social effects of the current Hungarian health crisis so far. In my writing, I rely on my own research and that of my colleagues, and on the reports of my students in the health care system.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető A Critical Review of Francis Fukuyama's 'Identity': Examining the Flaws and Limitations of its Arguments(2023-05-31) Tóth, Dalma; Markovics, Márton; Varga, Zsombor-Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Családanyák szerepvállalása a munkamigráció folyamatában(2020-11-29) Nagy-Menyhárt, SzidóniaThe international literature defines the phenomenon of migration with the intention to work with the help of different theories and paradigms, and looks for the cause and effect relation between them which could explain the different migration waves. Recent researches into migration have shown the features of trans-nationalism and the increased rate of migrant mothers. Due to feminisation of migration, millions of women have become the breadwinners far from their homes in another county, and have also changed the division of labour within the family. The former physically present motherly care has been replaced by distant and material care provided by the mother. In my study, the engagement of mothers in the process of migration is approached in three dimensions: an overview of international literature is followed by regional as well as local research. The analysis of the migration stories from mothers focus on how working abroad appears in their life stories, and what the underlying reasons might have been.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető A digitális egyenlőtlenség vizsgálata a társadalmi kirekesztődés szempontjából(2020-05-08) Huszti, ElekMy research, which is part of a doctoral thesis, was made in Bereg the most backward subregion of Hungary in 2017. I examined the risk of poverty and social exclusion concerning the children of the age of 14 living here. I looked at this risk from a new angle, the angle of digital inequality. I looked for the answer whether the usage of the modern multi-media devices and the internet can help in the development of this subregion, the future generation will be able to meet the exigencies of the time, find a job in the digitalized labour market. Or else, the lack of these devices and the disability of using them make their position worse. I unveiled the students’ sociodemographic, socioeconomical features, the degree of the supply concerning multi-media devices, the purpose of their usage, their attributes and the factors causing digital inequality. I scrutinized the degree of ICT usage at schools, the relationship between the usage of the internet and the school achievements, the students’ relationships and their future prospects. In this article I would like to introduce the first part of my research in which I examined the socioeconomical background of the degree of supply with multimedia devices.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Digitális kihívások a felsőoktatásban: Az NKE oktatóinak digitális készségeinek kvantitatív vizsgálata(2024-05-28) Barnucz, Nóra; Botos, Virág; Ceglédi, Szabolcs; Dominek, Dalma LillaThe information society is not only transforming the process of education but also creating new positions and challenges in the labour market, and education must prepare for this. Research shows that the success of education depends mostly on teachers (Mourshed, Chijoka and Barber 2010). In this study, we investigate the digital competence of teachers at Ludovika University of Public Service (hereinafter: LUPC) (N=824). For the quantitative research, we used the DigCompEdu questionnaire. The level of digital competence of the teachers is assessed based on their own self-assessment. We assume that although their digital competences need improvement, but their motivation to use digital technologies in the classroom is positive. The instructors scored higher points in the areas of digital resource management, professional engagement and teaching & learning but they scored the lowest in the area of assessment.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető A digitális oktatás próbatétele halmozottan hátrányos helyzetű tanulók körében(2021-11-30) Huszti, ElekThis study has done research into the success of joining to the digital extracurricular education among cumulatively disadvantageous elementary and secondary school students in the North-Great Plain of Hungary. The characteristics of Hungarian education is inequality and selectivity, which phenomena have also been observable during digital education. The questionnaire that has been carried out concerning 216 students explored the students’ perspective of the characteristics of digital education, the methods of learning, the ways of contact, assistance and evaluation and the advantages and disadvantages of the above mentioned to the knowledge of students, the effect of these to their digital competencies, the fulfillment of infrastructural conditions, the applied digital platforms. The results of the research show how these cumulatively disadvantageous students could take part in this new form of education less effectively.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Discovering factors influencing study success of students with disabilities and learning difficulties in an interview study(2019-09-13) Hrabéczy, AnettThe focus of our research is on students with disabilities defined by the current National Higher Education Act in Hungary. The actuality of the topic is that after the millennium, due to the expansion of higher education, the above-mentioned students appeared at universities, but regulations dealing with their presence in Hungary were laid down as late as 2007. Earlier researches have studied the accessibility and inclusive practices of the institutions internationally and in Hungary, but only little attention has been paid to these students’ chances of acquisition and retention to higher education. Equal opportunities in higher education appear to be an important supporting factor in our research however, the overall social context of the individual has a great influence on successful entry and graduation. A further research opportunity, a deeper, more extensive quantitative study of the institutional presence of students with disabilities and the factors contributing to their learning success is emerging.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Educational situation picture of Roma residents living in shantytown conditions in North Great Plain Region(Debreceni Egyetem Egészségügyi Kar) Móré, Marianna; Stomp, Ágnes; R. Fedor, AnitaThe health indicators of the population are worst in the whole Central and Eastern European region, and thus in Hungary as well. The health status of Hungarians is not possible, it is not a unique phenomenon. The state of health of the Hungarian society is one of the worst in the European Union. To advance the understanding of the situation, it is necessary to conduct complex interdisciplinary studies that combine health and social science models. In our study, we present a complex approach to health, its social embeddedness, with the aim of providing a theoretical basis for a study we have designed to target Hungarian health characteristics. The theoretical overview emphasizes the context of the definition of health used in certain disciplines of the social sciences, the presentation of the explanatory factors of health, and the theses and models. Outlining our present work and future research cannot be without tracking the changes that have taken place that determine health, so we will first analyze this. In laying the theoretical foundations, we return to the complex approach to health, in which we present the presentation of biomedical and bio-psycho-social models in detail, and then we describe the economic and social models of health. We also deal with health determinants that determine the health of the individual and society.Tétel Szabadon hozzáférhető Egészséges táplálkozással kapcsolatos szokások egyetemi hallgatók körében(2020-02-28) Koroknay, Zsuzsa; Pfau, ChristaThe leisure time and the number of healthy lifestyle people are increasing at same time, what creating several health trends. These health trends affect two basic elements of a healthy lifestyle, physical activity and healthy diet. In this research, we examined the healthy diet, including two segments; vegetable and fruit consumption and fluid intake. The test sample was made by the students of the University of Debrecen. As a research method, we also performed primary and secondary research. In the case of secondary research, we also reviewed the international and national literatures, and compared the American and European healthy diet recommendations. In the case of primary research, we did a survey, during which we measured the healthy eating habits of the students. Our research shows that only 11,3% of the surveyed students consume vegetables and fruits what complies with the daily recommendations. However, in the case of fluid consumption, we got better result. The 65% of the respondents consume the appropriate amount of fluids.
